Bench: Will Crawford, Jamie, Caleb Raja.

Houghton Rangers Reserves gave a debut to Sam Cook the former Martyrs Keeper.

First Half.
A long distance shot gave Houghton a deserved lead which the Martyrs keeper was unable to turn past the post despite getting a hand to it.

An free header at the back post gives Houghton a 2-0 lead.

Ben Newcombe is replaced by Will Crawford (injury)

Half time.
Houghton gain a 3 goal lead when a bobbling ball passes the martyrs keeper with a bounce more akin to a Shane Warne ball than a football pitch.

Ole Imbush almost gets Marytrs back into it with a first time volley with the outside of his boot which fizzes over the bar with the Houghton keeper well beaten.

Houghton score a 4th as the ball bobbles past the Martyrs keepers boot. Whatever lady luck is in the game isnt going the way of the Martyrs.

2 changes by Martyrs, Caleb Raja on for Dave Bamford. Jamie on for Ranjeet Singh.
Formation change to 3-4-3, Tom Fryer pushed up with the strikers, Simon Coopey tucked into centeral midfield, and Jamie onto the right wing.

Tom Fryer latches onto a high ball, and after bringing it under control hits a lofted drive which the Houghton keeper just gets back in time to tip onto the bar before pouching the rebound. A missed chance for Martyrs as Ole Imbush was unmarked on the left, and nobody followed up to pick up the scraps.

A late goal for Houghton takes the scoreline to 5-0 as a goal on the break as Martyrs pushed forward looking for a consolation goal.

Full-time. 5-0.
Martyrs fall at the first hurdle of the saturday vase, but can take many positives from the game not least only considing 5 goals when in thier previous 2 matches they consided 18 in the 2 games and now look forward to gaining revenge on Whetstone for their 2-1 friendley defeat in pre-season and gaining their first points of the season.
