Vine Inns recent run of success continued with this hard earned victory over a very determined Friendship Old Boys team.......

The visitors settled well and for the first 20 minutes had the Vine on the defensive, but lacked the dominance in the final third.

Despite not making many changes, the home side had to battle hard before they started to play good football and, probably against the run of play, took the lead five minutes before the interval after Brammer supplied the cross for Blakely to finish at the near post.

The half-time team talk worked again and the home side came out playing good football through the midfield of Cross-Swain, Footitt and Walker, whilst the defence yet again gave the visitors no chances to get back into the game. With Baxendale in the home goal marshalling, Saward, Blakely, Rushby and Smith were dominant.

Despite this dominance they could not find the decisive finish to end the game.

Matthews and Stones were brought into the game to alter the play and, from Stones corner, Blakely headed home his second goal to complete the scoring.

The visitors had a late flurry but could not find a way through.

Candeo Vision of East Drayton man of the match was Paul Blakely.
