12 December 2005 | Adem

Hi and welcome to this weeks View.

So if the fixtures are right the semi finalists in 2 of the cups, Paul Picard and Jack Standen, are now sorted out. In the Picard Eltham Town United Res booked their spot with a 5-2 win over Catford CC and Paul Birch managed another spot with a 2-3 away win at Eden Park Rangers the current holders. Bromley Town were outgunned by Keyworth 1-3 and Noisy Daves Medway Lions kept the band rolling with a 3-5 away win at Midway.

In the Standen, Bromley Eagles were totally outplayed by Coney Hall 0-7 and high scoring Freelands were halted in their tracks at claiming another Bromley visit by 5th Div. Swanley Cardinals, 0-3. The Flames were extinguished by Crescent 4-7 but Chequers Reunited kept up their hopes with a 6-2 drubbing of EPR Res.

Back to the bread and butter of the League and in the Senior Division where Milldean saw off FOBG comfortably 5-3 and Valley Valiants surprised all by securing a fine 3-2 win over Centresports. Lessa Albion grabbed 3 well earned points with a win over Prince of Wales whilst Goldsmiths United keep on plugging away with a 4-2 win over out of sorts Vista. Midfield meanwhile, triumphed 6-0 over Defiance. Good win eh Bob ??!!***

Back at the Premier where the 2 games played produced a draw 1-1 between Griffin Sports and Pete Smalls COBS and Cudham United could not hold FC Poverest as the latter won 0-5.

In One Centresports Res scrapped away and Waynes Toon Army won 1-0 against Blackfen Sports. Sporting Sydenham surrendered 1-4 to Old Smiths and finally Fairfield were no match for AFC Albatross as the Stormy Petrels won 3-7.

Div Two saw Petts Wood slide in 2-1 against improving SE Twente and Eltham Progress show no season of goodwill to Lessa Albion Res where Lessa crashed 10-1 !! EC United had Masters to blame for a 1-4 defeat and Sydenham Sports almost matched Eltham Progress as they thumped Otford Colts 8-0 ( I wonder if a lot of usual players in this division had been dragged out Xmas shopping by the other half ?????).

Over to Div 3 where Ramsden continued to have some success when they entertained and beat Petts Wood Res 3-2. Eltham Town United A eased past Orpington Rovers 3-0 and London City were held by visitors British Queen 2-2.

Division Four now and AFC Lessa Christchurch this time were beaten 0-2 by EPR A as the result reversed from an earlier match. North Kent Rangers were soundly beaten 0-7 as Vikings turned in a cracking performance and Viking Strollers added another 3 points as they beat Midway Res 2-1.

Finally Div 5 where Beckenham Imps really returned to winning ways as they thrashed Fairfield Res 7-1 and Ex Blues won 4-2 against Dartford as Dartford committed Hari Kiri and scored 2, and possibly 3, own goals. But they fought back and would not lie down and Blues found themselves with their handsfull until the final whistle. An unlucky result for Dartford who plugged away the whole game. Well done to Blues though as well for taking part in a good game of football after all, at the end of the day thats what it is all about. Starks Park Rovers were unable to keep up with the old lags at Keston Rovers as the game ended up 3-3 must be Xmas Rovers eh ?? FC Wasps could not apply the killer sting today as they drew 1-1 with plucky Cudham United Res.

Xmas approaches, with one game left in 2005 so who will lead the tables and be looking in for the silverware in the Cups this season read Bobs View and get it first.
