Here it is

Hi and welcome to another week of the View and apologies for delay as I wanted to get up to date League tables in. Many thanks to www.obdsfl.com .

Some interesting results in the Senior Division this week as Eltham Town United went down 1-2 to Rootsys Defiance. This leaves Eltham staring at the bottom but still 2 points clear of Golden Ronnies Prince of Wales who went down 6-4 to Milldean who continue their challenge at the top. The result with FOBG holding up Bob Dines Midfield 1-1 will help the Milldean cause. Hot on Midfields tail are Mark & Angela Morgans Centresports who did not play today. Vista had a 4-2 win over the other relegation candidates, Valley Valiants. Finally Goldsmiths United kept in the hunt as they had a 3-3 battling draw with Ted Ellis Lessa Albion. Dont write off Golds just yet.

In the Premier Division, my game was over at the Twin Towers of Cudham Rec where Cudham United entertained Eltham Town United Reserves on a pitch that left you with dinner plates of mud round your boots. First off, I would like to thank both sides for a great game of football in trying conditions (and it was freezing well it is at Cudham even in July) and secondly a public pat on the back for everyone from both sides who played the game with good humour, who laughed with me when I made obvious errors, (yes I am still NEVER WRONG), and generally got on with it and tried to play the advantage in the spirit in which I tried to give it so thank you all once again. Now to the match. Well inside the 1st minute Cudham were one down scored a bit early methinks Eltham and were saved by the bar and should really have been 2 down inside 15 minutes. Having said that, Cudham too, had their chances but seemed to want to walk the ball into the net which on that pitch was NOT going to happen. They just could not get going. However, Rob Rickard up front for Cudham was causing Eltham some discomfort with his raking runs across either side of the pitch and perhaps it was inevitable that he scored the equalizer just past the halfway mark in the first half. That said, Eltham stepped up a gear and came back at Cudham who were rocking on their heals. Sparkes, Jones and White at the back had plenty to do as the Eltham guys urged on by midfield battler Stevie Lemmer came right back at them and Curtis in goal for Cudham was kept occupied. And so we turned round even at half time. Eltham roared out of the blocks once more and Cotter was causing all sorts of problems. But Cudham soaked it up and gradually took control. Mitchell in the Eltham goal brought off several world class saves, catches and parries to keep Eltham in the hunt. Sterling of Cudham missed a sitter as the normally safe Mitchell could only parry a fierce Cudham drive. It was shaping up for a frantic last 20 minutes. Eventually Cudham scored their second and Eltham were caught lacking in midfield as Cudham broke on a quick counter attack. Mitchell in goal was most upset and let his Eltham team mates know with no uncertainty. Cudham scored their third shortly after as they caught Eltham again as they pushed up for an equalizer. A great game and one of the best I have reffed for a long time. Teams, Cudham United: Curtis, Sparkes (M), White, Jones (C), Skinner, Jones (S), Taylor, Rickard, Sparkes (R), Sullivan, Childs Subs used: Hillman, Smurf Landymore, Sterling, Sub not used: Blake. Eltham Town United Res : Mitchell, Barker, Hearn, Cotter, Aclita, DeScoentheburg, Greea, Lemmer, Camply, Arjoon, Honey. Sub used Cunningham. In the other match Midway had a tidy win, 3-1, over Griffin Sports who seem to be struggling a bit this season.

So now to the First Division where division leaders, Catford Cricket Club, found themselves lacking as they could only beat bottom side Old Smiths 1-0 but as Jose says a win is a win !! Not to be outdone the goal machine that is Keyworth won 7-3 against Sporting Sydenham who are fourth bottom check that defence out Keyworth !!! Centresports Res had a nice win over Fairfield 4-0 (away the Lads, Wayne haha) but AFC Albatross also stayed in the promotion hunt with a fine 5-0 win over Kings Park Rangers.

In the Second Division Masters were slowed by a determined Petts Wood side who held them to a 1-1 draw. Valley Valiants Res found Copers Cope in good form and went down 1-3 whilst Noisy Dave Curtis Medway Lions kind of purred as they could only win 3-2 against a good Lessa Albion Res. Sydenham Sports are determined to prove me wrong as they beat relegation worried S E Twente 2-0.

To Division Three where Ramsden OBs gave local rivals Orpington Rovers a thrashing 5-0 and EPR Res managed a good win in a tight game against Eltham Town United A 2-1. London City played excellently to secure a precious point off promotion favourites Coney Hall and ended up 2-2. Petts Wood Res and Duke 94 could not manage a goal between them and ended up 0-0. Was my old mate Sheik playing ?? Looks interesting at the top.

Division Four next and AFC Lessa Christchurch could not hold Euro United and went down 1-2 whilst Viking Strollers were unable to separate themselves from fellow promotion challengers Chequers Reunited and had to settle for 4-4. EPR A went down 1-2 against Freelands and must have thought they deserved more. North Kent Rangers lost out 1-3 to in form Ex Blues who are now in 4th place.

So to Division Five at the end. Swanley Cardinals kept up the pressure to escape the bottom Div at the first time of asking with a 4-1 win over Bromley Eagles. Dartford lost out 0-2 to The Flames who are looking good too. Ex Blues Res beat Beckenham Imps 4-2 and kept up their interest. Sadly the old lags at Keston heaved and puffed but could not find the required oxygen as they lost out 6-0 to Fairfield Res.
