The Birmingham AFAs youth representative side convincingly beat Kegworth United (Nottingham Youth League side) 5-2 at the game played today at Boldmere Sports and Social club ground.

The Birmingham AFA side took the lead early in the match through Elliot Rhodes (Sutton Utd) and looked the stronger side throughout the first half. But until half time it remained 1-0.

In the second half the Birmingham AFA side had the wind and took advantage with two further goals through Anthony Freeman (Coton Green) and Bernard Fanning (Wake Green). It looked like it was going to be comfortable ride to the full time whistle for Phil Colvers side.

However two defensive lapses allowed the visiting side to get back into the game with 15 minutes still to play until Josh Turton (Parkfield AFC) restored a two goal cushion with a 20 yard strike. A last minute audacious chip of the visiting goalkeeper by Loius Bridges (Crusaders) provided the final goal that rounded off a very solid performance by the Birmingham side.
