8 Goal Thriller in Semi Final

Enfield have reached this years Presidents Cup Final after a nerve wracking penalty shoot out victory over League champions and last years winners Rimington. The game got off to the worst possible start for Enfield who found themselves 1-0 down within a minute of the kick off but they showed great bouncebackability five minutes later when Rob Addison capitalised on an error by the Rimington Keeper and slotted home from a tight angle. Enfield then took the lead midway through the first half when Ben Haworth struck from the edge of the box and things went even worse for Rimington when Jon Haworth rounded the keeper and squared it for Addison who grabbed his second of the game. Rimington started the second half brightly and got a goal back 5 minutes in to make it 3-2. On the hour mark Jon Haworth outran the rimington defence to latch on to a ball over the top before coolly finishing to make it 4-2. But the game was far from over and Rrimington got 2 back to take the game to extra time when both sides gave there all but neither could find a winner. The penalty shootout again got off to a terrible start for Enfield with the first 2 spot kicks missing and they had keeper Tom Riley to thank for keeping them in it to take the game to sudden death. Rimington then thought they had won it when Dave Palffys spot kick was saved but there celebrations were cut short when the linesman judged that the keeper had come off his line to early. Palffy made no mistake with his second penalty to keep Enfield in the game before Mark Beard sealed the win with an excellent penalty after Rimington missed theres. They now play Barrowford Celtic in the Final on Thursday at The Arbories, Padiham. 7 oclock kick off.
