Leverton Utd won the Presidents Trophy for the first time in their clubs history with a convincing win over Ingleby Arms FC.........

Leverton (seen left) started the better of the two sides with Bury saving well from Lee Pashley.

Ingleby had their first effort on goal after 15 minutes when Kitchinson saw his goal-bound effort saved superbly by Steve Harrison in the Leverton goal.

James Simms played a great ball across the field to Matt Theaker, who advanced down the right wing.

His cross was met by James Walker who saw his header hit the Ingleby crossbar.

Mayfield won a free-kick 20 yards from the Ingleby goal. Lee Pashley fired it inches wide of the Ingleby post.

Just before half-time Leverton took the lead when a great ball through the Ingleby defence by Dan Mayfield found Lee Pashley who coolly slotted the ball home.

The second half started well for Leverton.

From a corner, after five minutes, Pashley floated the ball over and it fell to Matt Theaker who smashed the ball home to give Leverton breathing space with a 2-0 lead.

Ingleby upped their game and Harrison saved well from Green.

Pashley then saw his 20-yard drive go inches wide.

Harrison, in the Leverton goal, made a great save from Kitchinson again.

With 20 minutes left Leverton scored their third goal when a great ball down the right wing by Ryan Brown found Lee Pashley, who beat his marker and fired over a cross for Dan Mayfield to blast the ball past Bury.

Ingleby then put the Leverton defence under a lot of pressure, but they held firm to win their first trophy of the season.

Uniteds man of the match was awarded to Steve Harrison who gave an outstanding performance in the Leverton goal.

Credit to all the Leverton players for a superb team effort.

Leverton United would like to say a big thank you to the teams sponsors - TMS and Highfields Ltd for all their support during the season.
