Sums Up The Season.

Leading up to the weekends match against Greenacres II Res, it has to be said that I was quietly confident about getting a result. We had players returning from injury and it looked as though we would have a large and strong squad.

That soon started to fade away when approaching the weekend, Glenn suddenly had his shifts at work changed and had to withdraw. That started a downward trend. Both Ryan Willetts and Stuart Dickinson also withdrew. They were then joined on Sunday morning by both Andy Roberts and Matt Dyble.

I then get the text message on Sunday morning that Ryan Burnham isn`t playing. Something that I was unaware of and certainly unprepared for.

Six players dropping out almost spelt disaster. I could quite easily have `thrown` the match there and then. However, I received a boost when I heard that Brad was going to play (he was originally a `no`) and so was James.

Then Josh confirmed that he was bringing a mate along to play, followed up by Mark saying he would go in goal........

So. We had a bare eleven and we knew that would be reduced to ten at half time as Brad had to leave due to family commitments. The fact that he managed to make the game to start with, showed just how much he wanted to be there and do something for the team.

Without those individuals and the others who were there on Sunday, that would have been a very expensive Sunday morning for the side..............
